We're upfront with users (and want to be equally upfront with partners) about what this is not: it's not a certified background check. Checks are generated from public web search — full limitations at checkmydate.com.au/about. What it does well is surface real, publicly findable information faster than doing it by hand, and flag common catfishing signals.

Built to be honest about its limits
We'd rather a partner underestimate what CheckMyDate does than a member overestimate it. Every report states clearly what was and wasn't found, and we actively ask users to flag results that look like they've matched the wrong person — a real risk with common names that we take seriously.
